The WBDC of Florida became an official affiliate of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) in 2000. Since then, we have made it our mission to go beyond certification to support women business owners on their journey. Over the years, we have certified thousands of businesses and championed Women Owned with corporations and government organizations. It's our way of helping strengthen women-owned businesses and building connections that bolster commerce.

As we marked 25 years of empowering women-owned businesses during an online celebration September 5, 2025, we were thrilled to honor incredible leaders, innovators, and supporters who have helped shape our community. We presented awards that celebrated dedication, vision, and transformation. The recipients are listed here:

Monarch Legacy Award – Honoring enduring commitment and the foundational role played in our journey, just like the monarch’s long and epic migration. Presented to: LaRae Floyd from Broward Health.

Royal Wings Award – Recognizing distinguished leadership and visionary impact, celebrating those who uplift others and lead with strength and grace. Presented to: Allen Hall from Florida Blue.

Monarch Emergence Award – Celebrating rising stars and new WBENC-certified businesses making big strides, full of promise and energy. Presented to Dhomonique Murphy from SkillSprint Workforce Solutions.

Chrysalis Award – For longstanding supporters whose steady presence has enabled transformation, like a chrysalis protecting a butterfly on its journey. Presented to: Willie Johnson from VyStar Credit Union and Blanca Robinson, retired from WBEC South and WBENC.

Endurance Award – Honoring steadfast commitment and resilience, inspired by the monarch’s epic migration and enduring spirit. Presented to: LaKesha White from WBENC.

Destination Award – For those who pursue goals with faith, courage, and an open heart, trusting that the journey will be worth it. Presented to: Claudette Stroble, founder and former owner of Orlando Conference Management Group.

Kaleidoscope Award – Recognizing the beauty and strength in unity, diversity, and the vibrant tapestry we create together. Presented to: Terri Hall from Doubletake Marketing & PR.

Flight Forward Award – For innovation, progress, and driving meaningful change, helping others rise along the way. Presented to: Wande Diakite Leintu from Amazon.

The Catalyst Wing Award – For belief in our mission, helping spark a bold new beginning — and for internal championing that turned a single opportunity into many. Presented to: Traneice Mills from Amazon.

Special Recognition - Our board honored our CEO and President, Nancy G. Allen, for her leadership, vision, and dedication for the past 25 years.
